The Head of AML Transaction Monitoring will be responsible for overseeing and managing the AML transaction monitoring initiatives. This role plays a critical part in detecting and preventing financial crimes by monitoring, analysing, and investigating all transactions to identify suspicious activities. The Head of AML Transaction Monitoring will be a key leader in ensuring the compliance of our institution with all relevant AML regulations and implementing best practices to mitigate risk.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive AML transaction monitoring programs and strategies to identify, track, and report suspicious activities
  •  Ensure compliance with all UAE local legislation and regulations, while strengthening internal compliance frameworks and policies.
  • Provide guidance and support to the AML team, bringing your expertise to ensure efficient and effective execution of monitoring tasks
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AML regulations and industry trends, and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders
  • Act as a primary liaison with TTS’s regulatory stakeholders (including the DFSA), building trust and maintaining open communication.
  • Design and implement effective and efficient AML monitoring and surveillance programs to identify and prevent suspicious activities
  • Oversee the development and delivery of AML training programs for all employees to promote awareness and adherence to AML policies and procedures
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors on all matters related to AML compliance
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and gaps in the bank's AML controls, and develop solutions to mitigate those risks
  • Oversee periodic assessments and audits of the transaction monitoring program to identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes
  • Prepare and deliver reports to senior management, highlighting key findings, trends, and recommendations for enhancing the AML transaction monitoring program

 

Ideal Candidate:​

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Anti-Money Laundering operations with a focus on transaction monitoring
  • Deep understanding of UAE regulations (DFSA, CBUAE, federal law, etc) and global AML/CFT standards (FATF, EU, UK, US, etc.).
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing AML transaction monitoring programs in a banking or financial institution
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex data and identify patterns or anomalies
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving results
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Professional certification in AML, such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
